Energy Saving Windows ~ Part 2

1. The air space is thick.

The air space has a big effect on the conservation of energy within the house. If your windows have only thin air spaces in between, chances are you’ll experience low insulation, whereas, with thicker air spaces in energy saving windows, you’ll be getting a greater degree of insulation.

That is why; a lot of the manufacturers of windows have designed a double-glazed feature so that it will be more effective and maximize its potential as energy saving windows.

2. It has several coatings of glazing.

Insulation had been the primary concern of many houses in countries with colder climates. That is why most window manufacturers today have designed an energy saving window with double coating of glazing. They further contend that a couple of additional coatings will most likely increase the insulating feature of the energy saving window.

3. It has low emissivity coatings.

The incorporation of low emissivity coatings in energy saving windows had further intensified its energy conservation power. This means that the window is coated with a thin silver coating that allows light to penetrate but curbs the entrance of heat radiation.

This low emissivity energy saving window is ideal during summer time wherein you need enough natural light but less heat from the outside. You can save lots of energy consumption there by not using air conditioning units any more because you have enough coldness that you get from the energy saving window.

4. It has edge spacers.

These refer to that portion in the energy saving window that clasp the panes of the glass and seals the air within the insulated window. It, therefore, traps the heat within, preventing it in escaping.

So, with all these great features energy saving window has, what’s the valid reason for not using them at home?
Do keep in mind that having these kinds of energy saving features in your house is an expense. Remember that when problems arise like that of humidity accumulation, it will pose more dangers than you have expected.

Indeed, beauty shouldn’t be the only factor to be considered when building a home. You should also take into account how comfortable, healthy, and energy saving it can be.
